Today was a quiet day. The early morning was really quiet, we only had 3 friends here! We got out some new toys that had been put away in the closet for a rainy or wintery day and had a long free play time. After free play we had a yummy lunch of sloppy joes, carrots and celery and tangerines with milk.
For group time we read the story "All The Colors Of The Earth" The children enjoyed looking at the pictures comparing skin colors with different colors of animals and nature.
Our activity was making Vietnamese Dragon Masks. We colored them with crayon, cut the face shape out and glued it onto a paper plate. Then we decorated the outside of the plate with colorful paper. Some of the dragon masks were not finished so we plan on spending some time working on them in the next couple of days. When they are all done we'll do a dragon dance while we listen to the drum music. The children are very excited about this!
For snack we had blueberry muffins with water.
After snack we played a little while in the snow with our child sized shovels and tools and then warmed up by the fire before going home for the evening.
