bucket heads
lots of roots
working in the sandbox

Today was a work day for everyone. We pulled lots of weeds and learned about plant roots first hand as we helped Ryan pull out the dead ornamental grass and a small tree from the edge of the garden. The children were really into their work and spent quite a long time pulling weeds and raking up wood chips and bark that was scattered all over the yard. We found some interesting creatures, I don't even know what they were!
We went on a neighborhood walk, our neighborhood walks are so interesting! The children experience so much while we are out and about. Today the hospital helicopter flew over our heads twice, we saw a police car driving, the St. Mary's grounds keepers were out and working on planting flowers and tree's. The children loved seeing the tree's on the trucks. We practiced walking and keeping up with the group while we were out. The Oak Tree's each held one of the Acorn's hands and they walked really nicely. As a reward for great walking and great listening the children were able to run up and down the hill at St. Mary's before returning to school. They absolutely LOVE that!

Today's lunch is whole wheat bagels with cream cheese, broccoli, strawberries, grapes, grated cheese and milk.
We plan on celebrating Anna's birthday this afternoon with her parents and big brother.
