Today we studied countries and cultures again. We had so much fun making Japanese Origami cats and dogs, tasting a special Indian treat called Mithai made by Arhan's mom {THANK YOU SO MUCH SHIVALI!}, and learning about traditional Indian and Vietnamese clothing. We also learned to count to 10 in Hindi and watched Elia's Vietnamese dragon dance celebration on video- a special party we had for her when she was 18 months old and home 6 months from Vietnam that involved a Dragon Dance/Acrobatic show. We also read the story It Takes A Village, about a country called Benin in Africa and the African Proverb~It Takes A Village To Raise A Child.
We enjoyed playing in the sensory bean box and we worked on making our good friends Anna and Arhan a special present for their last day of school tomorrow. Arhan also brought our class a special present! A Diego numbers/math game, 2 puzzles and a science kit to grow sea monkeys! What a wonderful gift, we are so thankful!
We will miss Arhan and Anna so much, but we know they'll come and visit us sometime soon!
A special Thank You To Anna's dad, who made a special video of Anna's reecnt family vacation so that she could show her friends and teachers at First Discoveries all the great things she saw and experienced on her trip! We loved seeing her video and hearing Anna tell us all about it! Thanks for taking the time to do that Tony!
