We continued on our Pumpkin theme this week by checking out a white pumpkin brought by Kroix! We played with our "pumpkin store" in our classroom and built with blocks and the train set during free play time.
Today we also got a special treat- we watched the movie " It's The Great Pumpkin- Charlie Brown".
After our movie we made an easy reader Halloween book with crayons and paper.
We read two stories today for story time- "Pumpkins" about the life cycle of a pumpkin, and "There was an old lady that swallowed a Bat" - a funny book to the tune of the popular "There was an old woman that swallowed a spider" This new version is all about silly Halloween creatures! The children love it!!!
We practiced our 5 little pumpkins poem and counted pumpkins together and then sang our goodnight song and said our goodnight poem and got under our blankets for rest time.
Our lunch today was veggie quesadilla's, squash, grapes, organic apple blue berry yogurt and milk.
We have been pushing fruits, vegetables and liquids and have tried to cut out any junk food to keep our bodies healthy during the cold/flu season. Please be aware of what your children are eating at home, cut back on the sugary snacks, and keep pushing fruits and vegetables! Also practice proper hand washing! We continue to send children back into the bathroom because they haven't been washing properly or forget to wash all together. We've all been pretty healthy this fall and we hope to keep it up!!
