Today for group time we read the story "Apples and how they grow". We learned that after planting an apple seed a tree grows- but sometimes it doesn't have apples on it! We learned that apple tree growers can do a special trick to make sure that the right kind of apples grow on apple tree's- they cut a branch from a good apple tree and attach it to a "baby" apple tree. Soon the two parts grow into one tree! Pretty neat!
We also learned that before apples grow on the tree apple blossoms form.
We read the book "One Little, Two Little, Three Little Apples" and practiced counting up to 10 forward and then backward in English and Spanish. We sang did our Apple Tree poem.
Instead of doing an apple craft today we worked on a fall candy corn wreath.
This afternoon we plan on doing some free art apple prints before playing outside to end our day.
Our lunch was grilled cheese sandwiches, apple slices, tomato soup and milk.
