Wow we can't believe it's already February!

February is kind of a busy month for us with birthdays, Lunar New Year celebrations, adoption days and Valentines day but besides all of those things this month our class will be learning all about "friendship". If you have any great friendship books that you would like to share with our class this month please bring them in!
Today Zara and Nyla both came back from an extended vacation, so we took it easy and played this morning and then worked on cutting heart shapes by folding a pieces of construction paper in 1/2 and cutting along the line that Heather or Ryan drew. It's great practice to try to cut along a line- the children are getting really great at it! Even A.J. has successfully been using a scissors!
We had rice with veggies and bologna slices for lunch today. We haven't been getting enough veggies for vegetable soup lately so we've had do make some other meals using the veggies that we have. If our friends begin bringing more veggies on Mondays we can start our vegetable soup day again.
We are looking forward to playing in the new fresh snow this afternoon- it's finally above 10 degrees out today! woohoo! I feels like the temperature has been hanging around 1 degree for an awfully long time!
