Today our classroom received a blessing from Kuwait! Her name is Saaraa and she is 9 years old. Her parents are visiting the mayo clinic, so she may be staying with us for a while as they receive medical treatment. She is a happy, sweet and very funny little girl. She doesn't know much English, but that didn't stop her from getting along wonderfully! It's so funny how children get along together. They don't need to speak the same language- they speak through laughter, smiles, and songs. They walked hand in hand, and played the same games, without even communicating at all- at least not in English! I don't think that smile ever left her face the whole time she was here. We're happy she came to visit us, we've never had a student from Kuwait before so I think we'll have to learn a bit about the country and culture in the next couple of weeks. Maybe we'll pick up on some Arabic words as we teach Saaraa our English words too! For now Saaraa says "Fun! Good!" about her stay at First Discoveries. We agree!
