We had a really busy day today! We started with making our first surprise note/dollar drop near St. Mary's. We wondered if any of our parents found it? The big girls were totally into this and made the sweetest pictures with their notes. I hope it made someone's day! Someone did find it, because it's gone now!

Then we met Mr.
Mcfeely from the show Mr. Rogers! He sang old songs from the show, along with some kid favorites and he invited us to join him for a few songs. We ended up being a big part of the show! We didn't know we were going to be IN the performance- or we would have practiced a little! :) It was fun, the children don't mind being the center of attention, in fact some of them (
Annie!,
Josie!) are quite fond of being the center of attention!

We also met Doctor Jack- Mayo Clinics working dog- he was so sweet!

We met Mr. Rogers puppets too, and Daniel the tiger gave each of us a kiss on the nose!

We got something new for our "Wall of Fame" in our classroom- a signed picture of Mr.
Mcfeely! (also be checking 'This week at Mayo" and the News- there were a lot of of camera's around so I wouldn't be surprised if our cute faces showed up in the media somewhere. Mr. Mcfeely told me to tell all of the parents that you can watch Mr. Rogers online for free at
www.pbs.org/rogers.

Then it was time to say good bye and head to the library for another performance- this time Kevin Strauss the storyteller. It was so good to see Kevin and his daughter Sarah again- Sarah used to attend First Discoveries! We miss seeing their family every week! You can see more of Kevin Strauss at
http://www.naturestory.com/
We got our photo with Kevin and Sarah and checked out some of the cool puppets and props he uses for his stories.

It was a long walk home but we laid in the shade of a big tree to cool ourselves down a couple of times on the way back. I think the teachers get much more exhausted with this kind of trip than the children do-they ran nearly the whole way home!!!

It was a good, busy day!
We're all ready for some relaxation and a big glass of lemonade!
