This is the beautiful Mermaid Reptalia. She comes from the land of Reptiles and Amphibians, and she has asked us to help her with a great task. Somehow all of the Reptiles and Amphibians from her land have disappeared while they were out exploring the forest tree's and they haven't been able to find their way home again! She asked us to help collect all of the Reptiles and Amphibians from the forest and bring them back to the land of Reptiles and Amphibians. If we are able to complete the task, we will be rewarded.
First we have to climb up the mountain.
Once we reach the top we read the book "Amazing Crocodiles & Reptiles" This way we'll know a little bit about what we're looking for!
Then we walked quietly and slowly on the forest path, and then through the prairie to get to the great big forest tree's that Mermaid Reptalia had told us about.

We start to spot the animals! We proceed with extreme caution- knowing that some reptiles and amphibians can be dangerous to human beings, especially if they are not handled properly!
With each animal that we find, there is a card with photos of the animal along with it's name average size, diet, class, and location. Many of the animals were from the United States- where we live but some were as far away as Cuba or Africa!
We safely found all 10 animals! A two lined chameleon, a cuban tree frog, a leatherback turtle, a caecilian, a moor frog, a mud snake, a boa constrictor, a sidewinder, a painted turtle and an eastern box turtle.
Whew! It was a big adventure finding all of those animals! Our reward was an organic lollipop and a fruit smoothie. Sooo yummy on a hot day!
On our way home we had to stop and admire the flowers!
We're resting now from a great adventure, with smiles on our faces because we completed our great task!
Job well done preschoolers!
We also did so well with Ms. Cristina that she gave us TWO stamps today! We are learning Spanish so quickly! Many of us can often be heard singing Spanish songs on the playground or randomly answering questions with a Spanish word rather than an English word! Muy Bien!
