An "I Love You Leaf!"

A green berry

A green walnut!

A shaded hiding place!

Ants in the dirt!

watering the seeds

A pot full of green treasures

Today 1/2 of our friends went to Gymnastics Camp in the morning, and 1/2 of our friends stayed here and searched for treasures on our playground! We had kind of a lazy morning. I gave the children a big bag of flower seeds and they chose where to plant them on our playground and watered them when they were finished. They were excited to be in control of the decision making process and not be told where or what to do with the package of seeds and water. It's a great learning process to figure out on their own where the seeds will grow, and where they will get smashed and not have a chance to grow (under the rope ladder is probably not the best place for a flower garden!) They also took some time to water our garden and grass.
When the rest of the friends get back we'll be practicing our skit "Fair Rosa" and having some waffles, apples, and snap peas for lunch.
We will also be learning how to finger knit today with cotton loops. The little ones that aren't quite coordinated enough to finger knit will be able to play with the cotton loops or sort them by color, or maybe practice
transferring them from container to container with a tweezers- that's always one of our favorite activities!
If you know of any fall community ed classes or events that you are interested in having your child attend please let me know- the new schedule is now available!
