Fall Weekly Schedule
For our special morning activities
Monday- Soup Day! Please bring a vegetable (or vegetables) from home to add to our pot of soup. Fresh, canned or frozen are ok, we prefer organic though! Try to choose different vegetables each week so that your child is encouraged to taste different kinds of vegetables- if they are involved in picking it out, buying it, and bringing it to school, they're much more likely to EAT it! The children will be involved in peeling, washing, chopping and adding the ingredients to the pot. We always go around the table on soup day and say thank you to each friend for providing us with yummy vegetables and working hard to make our soup.

Tuesday- Baking Day- We will be making many different types of breads, muffins and cakes while we learn about different ingredients and measurements and work on working as a team to create one yummy snack for all to share.

Wednesday- Wood Working Day- The children will be involved in different types of wood work- sanding, hammering, sawing, etc. This will be a special day for some one-on-one time with the teachers.

Thursday-Painting or craft day- The children will be working on water color paintings, and some other small and natural crafts as well each Thursday. We may throw a little "Great Artist" learning in as well. Many of the great artist projects are tricky, so aren't so great for our young class but there are a few projects that the children will really love!

Friday-Cleaning Day- The children will help to scrub the floors, walls and windows. They will learn to wash place mats and napkins by hand with the little washboard. They will also wash dishes and toys and anything else we might find that needs some scrubbing! Children love to be involved in adult work- so this is always a very fun activity for the children to participate in!

The rest of our time will be filled with free play, outdoor time, reading, dancing, singing, and our quiet rest. We are planning on having Spanish class this fall and are open to other suggestions for extra curricular classes as well!
Remember- we go outside every single day (except in severe weather) Please make sure your child has proper clothing for outdoor play and a proper change of clothing in their cubby.
If you have certain days that work for you to come and volunteer or drive on a field trip please let me know, we're just working out the details of a couple of fun fall field trips.
