These are our very favorite fall stories, and are daily reads in our house! I highly recommend checking out the Elsa Beskow books if you have never read one to a child you are really missing out. They are incredibly magical, the text and illustrations both! They are stories of adventure and imagination. Many of them are seasonal and natural as well. We read "Woody, Hazel, and Little Pip" today at group time- which is kind of a long story but the children sat quietly on their little wood stumps with their eyes wide with wonder the entire story! It was pure magic.
We also sang "Squirrel is Hiding" and tried to guess which hand he was hiding in, whether he was up above, or down below. Each child had a turn to guess- and almost all of them guessed the correct hand! It's hard to be sneaky with our preschoolers!
We said our good night poem, and our group time poem before singing good night to each of our friends and snuggling in for a rest.
This afternoon we hope to play outside until pick up time again and maybe get out the woodworking activity since we haven't had time all week to get that out yet.
Lunch was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, carrot sticks, pretzels and apple slices.
Snack is pears (brought by Hayden- Thank you!!) and milk
