Merry little snowflakes falling through the air
Resting on the people the tall trees everywhere
Covering the hillside where we like to coast
Merry little snowflakes do their very best
To make a soft, white blanket so buds and flowers may rest.
But when the bright spring sunshine says it's come to stay
To make a soft, white blanket so buds and flowers may rest.
But when the bright spring sunshine says it's come to stay
Then those little snowflakes quickly run away!
Today was another fun snow day! The children started out the morning by playing with play dough. They used butter knives and cookie cutters to cut and shape the dough. They really loved practicing cutting it the most! Then we went outside to sled and play in the new fallen snow. The sun was shining and the snow was glittering it was a perfect Minnesota winter morning! They played until lunch time and when they came in had some gingerbread people cut out peanut butter sandwitches, vegetable beef stew, green beans and carrots. Instead of the usual milk to drink they had hot apple cider so that was a real treat! Since we had a really small group today we decided to have a "sleepover party" instead of a scheduled nap time. Everyone brought their blankets and sleeping bags to the couch and snuggled together to watch the Grinch- one of our favorite December Holiday tradititions. After the movie we plan on making painted paper snowflakes practicing our holiday songs, doing a sorting number math activity with beads and having some popcorn and milk for snack.
Tomorrow is our first Spanish class! We are really looking forward to that. After Spanish we'll get on the city bus and head to the mall for lunch at the food court, a visit with Santa Claus and a stop at the sharing tree to donate some gifts.
