What a freezing cold day it was today! Today took the city bus downtown and then split up. The younger preschoolers (2 and 3yr olds) went to the library and out for a warm cup of hot cocoa at the coffee shop with Ryan, while I took the older preschoolers (4 and 5 yr olds) to the play Cinderella at the Masque Theater. We had to walk about 2 blocks in the cold wind to get to the theater from the bus stop and brrrrrr! We ended up running the whole way as fast as our legs could carry us while trying to keep our faces tucked into our jackets. If your child doesn't have a hat that ties, and a neck warmer or scarf please bring one. It was very very cold without them!
The play was fun. The evil step sisters were pretty funny and I think the children enjoyed the fact that the Cinderella character was a young girl rather than a grown up. The stage at the Masque Theater is very small so we got to sit pretty close to all of the action so we could see everything close up and personal.
When the play was over we ran as fast as we could once again to get to the bus stop, we met up with Ryan and the other children and rode the bus all the way back to school. Since it was late today we decided to make sandwiches, chips (a huge treat not often given, especially for lunch!) grapes and carrots. We will be making our friendship vegetable soup for lunch tomorrow so if you forgot your vegetable today you can still bring it for tomorrow's lunch.
