2 years ago today the most beautiful spunky baby was born in a very crowded hospital in a busy city in Vietnam. Though we were not there on the day of her birth, she was in our hearts and minds that day and every day until we could bring her home.
Today she celebrates the day of her birth with her family and friends surrounded by love.
Together we made some very yummy magic pink strawberry cupcakes in the morning. We ate Elia's favorite meal for lunch- chicken and rice with steamed broccoli and applesauce.
After lunch we celebrated the time that Elia has spent on earth by reading a special story about how she slid down the rainbow bridge from Heaven to Earth on the day that she was born. Then Elia held onto Mama and Papa and walked around the candles to symbolize the earth going around the sun for the two years that Elia has been on Earth. All of her friends sang "The Earth Goes Round The Sun" over and over because she loved walking around the candles and being the center of attention so much!
We gave her some hip hip hoorays and she opened a couple of precious gifts from her friends. She was in HEAVEN!
After nap we decorated the cupcakes with Elia's favorite things, M&M's and pink lollipops! We each got a candle on our cupcake so that we could make a wish and blow out the flame. It was a perfect birthday for a 2 year old. Thanks everyone for such sweet gifts and for loving our baby so much!
