Happy Valentines Day!
We had a fun-filled morning with lots of fun activities today. We started out by reading a short story about St. Valentine, and learning about the reason that people started celebrating Valentines Day to begin with!
Then we split up to work on activities. We painted with heart shaped cookie cutters, glued valentine themed paper to make cards or collages, and colored felt Valentines. The children loved all of these activities, I was surprised that the coloring project was even a big hit since they color everyday I thought it wouldn't be as interesting to them but of course they loved it!
We then had Spanish class. AJ even joined Spanish class today and did really well. Although he doesn't say the Spanish words, he's definitely taking it all in.
Today during free play AJ began having a little glockenspiel concert all by himself, and Elia ran and grabbed MY camera off my desk and went on to pretend to photograph AJ while he played. It was the funniest thing! They are like little adults trapped in toddler bodies.
We practiced singing "Magic Penny" and read the book "It's Valentines Day!" and we passed out our valentine cards or treats.
Afterwards we went upstairs and had heart shaped turkey and cheese sandwiches, tomato's, peas, strawberry yogurt and a brownie! Yum!
Thanks everyone for providing such fun treats and goodies for the everybody. They loved their Valentines and are looking forward to waking up from nap to more treats and celebrating Tanmay's 5th Birthday!
