We just returned from the Olmsted County Historical Society, specifically the Hands on History section. We had a wonderful time exploring with our eyes, ears, and hands. As we entered the History Center we explored a 1950's style diner, admired the large wall of paintings, and made our way to the hands on weaving exhibit. After we explored the rest of the History Center we got to check out the late 1800's style one room house complete with cooking pots, a bed, and some other great items that I need to learn more about in order to teach the preschool. The History Center was a great experience, it was really rewarding for me to see how excited the kids are to explore new things. The connections they make and the appreciation they gain for the modern items we take for granted is truly priceless. If you wish to continue their learning ask them tonight at dinner about how clothing used to be washed, or how they made quilts, rugs, and clothing by hand.
For lunch we are making a special plate of nachos, with corn chips, shredded cheese, salsa, pinto beans, corn, and optional ground beef, with organic mixed berry apple sauce, and Milk.

Hi! I had fun reading your blog. The children are having a great time, but also miss their friends at school and talk about them and you two often. We've been collecting shells to bring back. Isaiah thought he might not be allowed because "sharing time" isn't until summer, but I told him I supposed he'd be allowed to bring them as gifts to share with everyone.
We'll see you next week! Wishing you all well.
