Today really feels like summertime! The children enjoyed walking to the park behind 2nd street- behind Tyrol. It's a small park with a set of swings, two pieces of climbing equipment and some rocking/bouncing toys. The children love it and Ryan and I love it because we are always the only people there. It's on a quiet street and is small enough that we can easily watch everyone at all times. We ran most of the way home on the bike path and then up 6th street until we cut through the backyard to go home. Boy was that a workout! I think Ryan got the most out of it since he was pushing the 5 child stroller with 5 kids in it as he was running up the hill!!!
We had a drink of water and a little rest and then it was time for Spanish class. The children are always happy to see our Spanish teacher Ms. Cristina. They love singing songs and learning new words.
After Spanish class we grabbed our shoes, washed our hands and spread out in the shade of our big pine trees and had lunch. Our lunch menu was sliced turkey, cheese, cantaloupe, crackers, peas and milk. As the children finished their lunch they took care of their dishes and then had free play time in the yard. We got out the sidewalk chalk and bubbles and the Oak Tree's had races on the sidewalk two by two while the other children cheered them on. It was a great way to spend a sunny morning!
At 1:00 we came inside for a rest. All of this outdoor time really tires us all out!
We got our mats and blankets out and said our goodnight poem and our other new poem we are learning to memorize-it's kind of a long one so it's taking some time for all of us to remember it! Then we sang goodnight to each child by name and got under our blankets for a quiet rest time.
This afternoon we plan on eating apples with peanut butter and raisins and playing in the play yard and getting out the paints for a fun outdoor painting project.
