What a beautiful day it has been today! We missed the sun yesterday so today we knew we had to soak up the sun as much as possible. We started our day by going to the Peace Garden. The children practiced being "peaceful". We worked on seeing nature with our hands, eyes, and ears while staying calm. This is especially difficult for some of the boys that have so much incredible energy but we're working really hard on it! The Peace Garden is still pretty bare. No flowers or water in the fountains but we did see some green popping out of the soil! After our trip to the Peace Garden we walked to a different area of St. Mary's grounds where we could climb up a bunch of hills and roll down them. The children thought this was great and enjoyed pretending climbing up the "mountain" and rolling down. We played for quite a while in the sun listening to the birds sing before walking back to school again for lunch.
Our lunch menu today is hot dogs with bun, baked beans, applesauce, carrot sticks and milk.
After lunch we went out to have some free play time on our playground before going inside for circle time. We worked on memorizing a circle time poem with actions today and read the book "Duck and the Book". Then we sang goodnight to each of our friends, got tucked under our blankets and said our goodnight poem before turning off the lights and resting our bodies for a nice quiet time.
Our snack today is crackers with peanutbutter and water.
