Our special seasons puzzle. This puzzle is so cool! It has 4 different layers, one for each season.

Reading together with our squirrel hats on (see the cool "bushy tails" on the back of our hats!")
Transferring strawberries from one basket to another using a tweezers- great small muscle and hand eye coordination work!

our forest creatures puzzles
cutting up tomato's for our friendship soup
Today was a great day! We started the morning with outdoor play time and then walked the school age children to school. When we came back in Ryan started a fire in our fire place and warmed up with popcorn and tea before our activity time.
We were busy with activities! I think I set out too many activities because it was tough to get them all completed before lunch time this morning!
We painted with water color colors and did our seasonal puzzle and forest animal puzzles. We also practiced transferring cloth strawberries from one basket to another using a tweezers. This was an interesting one to watch the children tackle. Some of them found it very difficult and some of them completed it super fast without dropping any strawberries at all.
We made squirrel headbands and sang our "Grey Squirrel Grey Squirrel" song and then read the story "Ms. Suzy" again as we sat by the fire.
Our friendship vegetable soup was delicious this morning! Thank you to everyone for participating! We've noticed that even the children that normally aren't big fans of vegetables are really getting into eating our special soup. Kroix had 3 helpings of soup today at lunch, Ethan's been asking for vegetable soup at home, and the rest of the children are really thrilled to be able to share their veggie every Monday! Kennedy walks in the door every Monday with a giant smile on her face ready to tell us about her vegetable. It's really special that they all feel so involved and important, even the youngest in our class love sharing their vegetables and telling the class about what they brought.
After lunch we got our sleeping spaces ready and read the story "Winter King Summer Queen". The children LOVED this story! We hardly ever have a time when all eyes are on me, all voices are quiet, and all bodies are still..but listening to this story that happened all at once! They really enjoyed it! It's a great "weather" story, and the change of weather certainly made us all realize that it's definitely Autumn in Minnesota!
This afternoon we plan on having some peanut butter and crackers and milk for snack and spending the rest of the afternoon outside maybe collecting acorns if we can find any!
