Today we read the book "The Story Of The Snow Children" by Sibylle Von Olfers. It was the perfect story for a cold and blustery day! I'm sure we'll be reading it quite a bit this winter- the illustrations are magical and it really makes your imagination soar.

We didn't play out this morning since it was a little chilly with the crazy wind- but we did watch the snow fall and blow around from the window. We also watched the poor mailman walking through the snow drifts to deliver the mail- the children were amazed that he didn't even have any snow pants on- poor guy!
We made bead necklaces and bracelets by the fire.
We also learned how to make orange slice ornaments. They turned out beautiful and made our school smell so yummy while they were in the oven drying out. If you put them in front of a Christmas tree light or hang them in a window they glow. They're super easy, beautiful, natural and simple ornaments!

For lunch we had chicken nuggets (a very rare treat around here!) celery with peanutbutter, applesauce and milk. Snack is still undecided- but will probably be toast with applebutter.
