Today was a lazy rainy day. What happened to our spring sunshine? We've been practicing our memorization work, the children are getting close to having their phone numbers memorized! If you have not turned in your child's emergency information please do so, we can't teach your children their phone number if we don't know what phone number you want us to teach them. Today we began changing our classroom over to SPRING. It doesn't look much like spring outside today but it will be here soon. You'll notice our books are changing over to spring books, our decorations might be a big more springy, the classroom snowflakes are gone and will soon be replaced with more color. Our music is switching to springtime too- I'll be posting the lyrics and CD's in the near future. Spring is a very magical time for young children! Some of the children in our class hardly remember last spring they were near babies last year at this time!

We have a couple of exciting days coming up- tomorrow the boys will finally get their chance to go to the fire station. They've been waiting since Friday when the girls went and are very excited! They will leave around 1pm and will return around 3pm.
This Friday we will be having a Fire Fighter and Police Officer visit our school at 2pm (and maybe the police dog!) The school age children have an early release day so they'll be able to participate in our visit as well. We are looking forward to meeting them!

PLEASE DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR HERE FRIDAY- We will need the space for our visitors.

We will be spending today and tomorrow's group time writing up questions that we would like to ask our visitors, the girls will be making a thank you card for fire fighter Brandon and the rest of the fire fighters that gave us our tour on Friday, we all will be practicing our memorization work, our fire drills, crawling under smoke when getting out of a fire, stop-drop- and roll- and dialing 911. It's a lot of information for preschoolers to take in. Thank you to the parents for discussing and helping your child learn some of these things at home as well. They're catching on quickly and enjoying learning about keeping themselves and their families and friends safe.
