Well we had ANOTHER field trip flop today! We have had the worst Field trip luck this school year! The boys were so looking forward to their trip to the Fire Station but the Fire Fighters were doing a training today and couldn't take us after all. The boys WILL be getting in their trip to the fire station but it might be a couple of weeks until we can get in again. Instead of going to the Fire Station they decided to go to O'Neils Pizza Pub. O'Neil's is one of our favorite field trip destinations. They are very welcoming, have great service and yummy pizza and they teach us how to throw pizza dough! It's the perfect cold/rainy day destination as the city bus goes right to their door!
The girls and AJ stayed back with Heather because it was nap time and because the boys deserved a special trip just like the girls had last week. We practiced saying our phone numbers again. Tanmay knows his entire address, phone numbers and parents full names- wonderful job Tanmay! I think Elia is in the lead for preschoolers with memorizing her parents names and phone numbers but Hayden and Quinn are coming in close behind! Even little Dru answers when you ask what her mom's name is. It's cute! We'll keep working!
Our new song of the day was about "Stop Drop And Roll"
Sung to the tune of "The Farmer In the Dell"
Stop Drop and Roll
Stop Drop and Roll
If your clothes should catch on fire
Stop Drop and Roll
We all practiced our stop drop and roll and had a fire drill (without jackets!) brr! When we got back inside we practiced crawling under the smoke (a big shaking sheet held by Heather and Ryan). This was really fun and helped the children visually understand the need for crawling rather than walking when there is smoke in the air. We listened to our fire alarm again and worked on zipping our lips and listening to directions right when we heard that first beep.
