It was too windy to deal with pouring lemonade into paper cups so we put cans of pop in some ice and sold that instead with some other baked goods that were donated and baked fresh this morning by our preschool class! The children (especially the school aged children) are getting so great at selling things. They do really well counting and collecting money, speaking up to adults and children and telling them about our cause. The younger ones LOVE waving to the cars, putting the change in the container and holding up our signs. Our two little girls above were so proud to be the sign holders. We even had one man stop his car and go over to the sign girls and tell them what a wonderful job they were doing holding the signs. It was very cute. They felt so important!
By the end of the sale Jayme, Josie, Tanmay and Hayden were the only ones left at the table the rest of the children went to play on the playground. Those 4 held out though for a few more sales and waved and waved at all of the cars going by in rush hour traffic and in the end, we made about $60.00 to add to our "From HIV to Home" fund!
