Activities for everyone include:
Visit the summer kitchen where you can wash clothes on a scrub board, make butter, or help the housewife with other chores.
Watch the blacksmith, the tinsmith, the broom maker and the rug weaver.
Attend country school classes or sit in the shade and enjoy musical, dance and theatrical performances at stages throughout the grounds, including HISTORIC BAND WAGON ORGANS! “The happiest music on earth”.
Watch shingles being made, oats threshed, lumber sawed, rocks crushed, corn ground, and other unique machines in operation.
Make a rope or play with old fashioned toys, pan for “gold”, or even watch woodshop demonstration and kids’ contests.
Enjoy steam tractor and antique tractors, antique engines and 20 Model Ts on display.
See demonstrations of old-time crafts, tour the milking barn, or take a wagon ride behind an antique tractor a team of beautiful draft horses.
Shop at the general store, at the toy seller in the barn, at the (60+ vendors) indoor “Old North Barn” craft sale, or in the History Center museum gift shop.
Eat your fill or quench your thirst at the food pavilion or new food court.
Experience a 1900s Living Farmstead, a Petting Zoo, Medicine Show, Children’s Carnival, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides and Pony Rides.
International Harvester Equipment will be featured this year. In addition, many makes of heritage farm machinery will be displayed. A daily Parade of Power at 1:00 p.m. will give everyone a chance to see the vehicles in motion. Don’t miss the antique tractor pull on Sunday!
Admission is $5.00 in advance and the button is good for both days. Daily admission is $7.00 at the gate (exhibitors and children age 15 and under are admitted free of charge). FREE parking and admission to the History Center museum all weekend is included. Admission Buttons may be purchased from MHRT members or at the History Center of Olmsted County.
