Look who came out of her cocoon today! Our beautiful butterfly! We didn't even see the cocoon change, yesterday it was dark green and this morning she was holding onto the broken cocoon hanging out in our dinning room! We are keeping her in our butterfly house today as her wings need some time to dry out so that she's able to fly. Then tomorrow we'll take her to the garden and let her go so that the cycle can repeat and she can lay more eggs on a leaf. The children are so excited but a little sad to see her go.
Today during free art time we colored butterfly mandala's and we'll be playing with our butterfly life cycle models and matching game this afternoon, along with making a new sensory table- this time it's going to be filled with water! We might even make leaf boats for our pretend bugs to float on or experiment with floating and sinking objects!
Today's lunch was peanutbutter sandwiches, Greek Gods honey flavored yogurt, blueberries, oyster crackers and milk.
