We sang our good morning song -
Good morning dear earth
good morning dear sun
good morning to the trees
and the flowers everyone
good morning to the beasts
and the birds in the trees
good morning to you
and good morning to me
And our days of the week song
There are 7 days there are 7 days
there are 7 days of the week
there are 7 days there are 7 days
there are 7 days of the week
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday
Thursday Friday Saturday

We practiced a little squirrel poem and did a finger play about falling leaves.
Our activities had a math theme to them today. We had two different types of domino's, a puzzle and a pattern game using the colored felt leaves set out as our quiet individual activities.
For art the children made their own hand print using paint and glitter. When the paint dries we will turn the hand prints into turkeys!
Ryan took the kids outside this morning and they enjoyed playing with the garden tools.
When they came back in we had some wonderful warm chili, crackers, cheese, and a banana for lunch.
Usually after lunch the children wash and dry their own dishes and put them away but today Ryan volunteered to wash the dishes today while the kids and I went downstairs to finish our Junie B. Jones book. When we read before nap time we always light two candles, turn out the lights and sing our story time song as we are gathering together. I think this helps the kids calm down and focus. They love reading by candle light. We finished the last two chapters of "Junie B. Jones and The Stupid Smelly Bus" It was pretty hilarious! Junie B. Jones is a very adventurous girl.
When the book was over we talked about it for a minute and then said our goodnight poem and got tucked in for nap.
