Today we started the day with some free play time on our playground and at 9:45 we had music class with Ms. Carol. She is coming earlier during the summer months.
After music class we went on a walk around the neighborhood though the "forest" on the bike path and through Milan's neighborhood. We saw and heard tons of birds and found a tree stump to examine for bugs.
When we returned to school we read the book "The Story Of The Butterfly Children" by Sibylle von Olfers. Isaiah and Miel brought it to share with the class, it's an adorable book ( and so are the rest of Sibylle von Olfers books! We LOVE them all! We went over the life cycle of a butterfly once again and then we made recycled calender picture butterflies. The children are learning to recognize their own names as well as all of their friends names so we have been practicing with name cards at group time too.
Our lunch today was spaghetti, garlic toast, cottage cheese, green beans, peas and pears with milk.
By the time lunch was finished it was pretty late so we didn't read another story but we did say both of our goodnight poems and sing "good night" to all of our friends before laying on our mats for a rest.
When everyone is awake we plan on playing outside on our playground and having the "Free Art" table available with B butterfly cut outs for the children to decorate if they choose to.
Our snack is going to be a special butterfly snack!
