(Elia didn't quite understand the pattern part of the project- but the rest of the children did..and her tiny wreath turned out very sweet too!)

We had planned on taking at least some of the group to the mall to see Santa but with the weather below 0 we didn't want the children out waiting for the city bus so unfortunately we weren't able to go. Hopefully next week it will warm up a little bit!
We had fun practicing AB patterns while we made our own paper candy canes alternating red and white strips of paper. We also made tiny holiday wreath ornaments using green and red beads- again practicing a pattern.
The children had a lot of fun setting up a store in our classroom today. They played really nicely together.
We had rice, vegetables, and oranges for lunch with a slice of turkey and milk.
We're working really hard on having good manners and quiet voices at the lunch table so the children that followed directions and had great manners were able to watch a movie after lunch called "The Case Of The Christmas Caper".
After the movie we had a quick story about a magical snowman, and sang our goodnight song and went to sleep.
This afternoon we plan on having free play in the play room and maybe working on a ornament that uses a special hand print project. We'll have some paper strips available for anyone that would like to make a paper chain to count down the days until Christmas.
