Spring Evaluations are coming!
We have been really busy making up report cards for your children. They will be appearing in your child's folder in the next few days. It takes a really long time to get these done, so please check them out and read them carefully. They are fun to look at when your child is older if nothing else!

These are simply for you to see where your child is developmentally. Keep in mind a few things when you are looking them over-

1. We are not a mainstream educational preschool program- some of the things on these lists we do not work on at all during the day. We put much more of an emphasis on free imaginative play, science (outdoors!) self help skills, and creativity than we do learning letters, numbers, reading, writing, opposites, and math equations.

2. Some of your children were given an evaluation that is ABOVE their age level. I believe all of the 3.5 year olds were given the 4 to 5 year old assessment. If your child received a 4-5 year old assessment but they are only 3.5 they will have some questions they don't know yet- because we haven't worked on these things yet, or your child just hasn't experienced them yet. They will be picking up on these things in the next year, and they are not 'behind' academically because there are a couple of questions they did not know.

3. The children act MUCH different separated from the group receiving individual attention. It was quite the experiment to see them alone in a quiet room answering questions and responding to little puzzles or games that I set up for them. Some of the children became very shy, while others wouldn't stop moving and chatting. If you see some questions that are marked with a "NO" but you know your child knows these questions, this is the reason. We tried to mark them as fairly as we could but also being as accurately as we could.

4. All of the children in our class are smart, adorable, sweet, and fun. All of the children in our class have amazing strengths. All of the children in our class excel at different things. All of the children in our class are cherished for the person that they are- not for the academic skills they can or can not currently perform.
